The Beautiful South!

I went on a 10 day road trip with my roommate Rebecca in October of 2000. One of our stops was the lovely Savannah, Georgia. It was Rebecca's idea to splurge on a bed and breakfast for one night. We ended up staying at The Confederate House. http://www.theconfederatehouse.com/index.html I don't remember how much we ended up paying for the accommodations, but it was worth whatever we forked out. Colleen, who runs the place, was like our mom. We were the only guests staying there that night. We went out late exploring the town, and hanging out at a karaoke bar. When we got back, she had left the light on for us and we saw it turn out shortly after we got back. In the morning, Colleen told us stories and there was a scrumptious breakfast, including this great cinnamon bread stuff that she put sour cream on. It was divine. I've been meaning to write for the recipe ever since...... If you are ever in Georgia and can spare a little extra dough, I recommend staying here. I hope someday I can return. It's a place better suited for couples though. I've always thought it would be a great place (one of many) to spend time with my sweetheart. If I ever find one that is. (hurry up boys! I can't wait forever! although sometimes I feel like I'm going to have to.) :) Check it out!
  • ALSO, here's a link to a cool restaurant we went to called The Pirates House. http://www.thepirateshouse.com/index.htm I just decided I like it even more because I was reading about it and apparently it's on the site of an old, botanical garden. Cool! I really don't remember what I ate there, but I'm guessing it was some sort of seafood and I'm guessing I really liked it. I was just looking at the menu and I wish I lived closer! Dang, I think I'm hungry. This is normal though. They say this place is haunted so I was hoping to run into a ghost. But no such luck......
